How to use the Decision Wheel
The Decision Wheel turns a list of options into a single random answer. To get started, replace the default entries with your own choices — type them one at a time using the plus button, or paste a full list into Bulk Edit with one option per line. Then hit SPIN. The wheel picks a result and announces it in a popup. You can add as many options as you like, from two up to several hundred. If some options should come up more often than others, open the weights column in the entries panel and give those entries a higher number. An option with a weight of two is twice as likely to land as one with a weight of one, and the slice sizes on the wheel change to show the difference clearly. Common uses for the wheel include choosing where to eat when a group cannot agree, picking a task to start when several things are equally urgent, assigning chores with a visible process, generating creative prompts when a blank page is winning, and deciding a winner in a group vote that ended in a tie. The reason a wheel works for decisions that a coin flip does not is that you can include as many options as you need at whatever odds you set. The result sits outside anyone in the group, so nobody has to own the outcome. Entries stay in this browser by default; share, embed, and QR links encode them in the URL. No account is needed to use this tool.

How do I use the decision wheel?
Replace the default entries with your own options — type them one at a time, or paste a list into Bulk Edit with one option per line. Then click SPIN. The wheel picks a random option and announces it in a popup.
What if I do not like the result?
Spin again. The wheel has no memory and each spin is independent. If you keep re-spinning until you get a particular answer, that reaction is itself useful information about what you actually wanted.
Can I weight some options to be more likely?
Yes. Set an option’s weight in the entries panel: giving "Stay home" a weight of 3 against "Go out" at 1 produces a 75% chance of staying home, and the slice sizes show that split at a glance.
Can I save my decision wheel for later?
Two ways. Click Share to copy a URL that encodes all your options and bookmark it, or click Saved to store the wheel as a named slot in this browser and reload it in one click next time.
Does it work for group decisions?
Yes, and it is arguably better for them. Share the wheel link so everyone loads the same options, agree in advance to abide by the result, then spin. Letting each person add one option means nobody feels their choice was excluded.
About the Decision Wheel
The Decision Wheel does the same job as flipping a coin or rolling a dice: it externalises the choice so that nobody has to own the outcome. When you are genuinely indifferent between options, the time spent deliberating costs more than picking wrong would.
The difference from a coin is that you are not stuck with two options at even odds. Add as many as you like, weight the ones you lean towards, and the wheel shows the exact odds you chose while still making the pick for you.
