Why other tools ask for an account
An account lets a tool store your data on their server, which is how they offer cloud sync and cross-device access. The cost is that your entry list — your class roster, your entrant names — now lives on someone else's infrastructure.
For many uses that trade is fine. For a teacher with student names, an HR manager with employee names, or a giveaway host with contact details, it is a data-handling decision that should be made deliberately rather than accepted as a default.
